The important cryogenic label

IVF treatment has been in the news recently and involves couples who are struggling to have a baby and there has been concerns amongst many that the guidance is too restrictive for those wanting NHS treatment, so the present situation could be about to change. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence has suggested that the treatment should be offered to couples after two years of failed attempts, not the current three and that the age limit should also be extended from 39 years up to 42 years.

As many know human eggs and sperm can be stored from donors’ and often is, also if a person is undergoing radiation treatment or surgery and can no longer produce eggs or sperm. These specimens’ are stored at very low temperature through a liquid nitrogen process at around minus 196 centigrade.  Naturally disasters such as labels losing adhesion or print becoming unreadable are completely unacceptable and require a very special label. We produce labels for use in commercial freezers for applications such as cold food storage, but these labels are unsuitable for cryogenic temperatures which require a special label which will withstand these low temperatures, good adhesion and shear resistance at low temperature when applied to both glass and treated vials. The labels can be either printed or plain and we can supply in any size and shape to individual requirements.
