Self-adhesive barcode labels

It’s quite common to find some sort of self-adhesive label on just about every product you buy. They are available in many different shapes and sizes and span margins from their use in a trade sphere to the retail sector.

Self-adhesive labels are used in many different applications and usually feature some sort of unique identification code such as a barcode or QR code. They use these codes mainly for tracking and pricing purposes so that the end-retailer can distinguish between stock items and so that the item can be scanned at a point of sale (POS) counter.

These types of multi-purpose labels can be used on just about any item in any type of situation, there are in fact some labels available which can withstand harsh factory conditions and not be affected by chemical contamination or persistently bad outdoor weather conditions. Some types of self-adhesive labels can also be used as warning labels and provide warning details about the product, such as the product containing a flammable liquid or chemical.

Other types of self-adhesive labels include electrical safety labels, tamper-evident labels and custom labels. Each of these types of label has of course its own unique selling point, so they must be chosen carefully by the end user before they are affixed to any item.
